The artists Gilbert and George go on a day trip to the Essex coast where they explore the fundamental questions of life, the universe and everything.

Director's Bio: English/Irish director Iain B MacDonald started his career making arts documentaries before winning the Best Short Film Award for BILLY’S DAY OUT at the 2004 Edinburgh International Film Festival. From there he started directing scripted drama at the BBC - his projects included the Jane Austin adaptation MANSFIELD PARK for PBS’s Masterpiece Theatre, the mini-series THE LAST ENEMY starring Benedict Cumberbatch, and the war-zone set COMBAT HOSPITAL for ABC. Following an Emmy nomination for Showtime’s EPISODES, he moved to the USA, and has since directed the pilot for YouTube’s WAYNE, directed episodes of THE PUNISHER, PREACHER and BLACK MONDAY, starring Don Cheadle. He has also executive produced and directed multiple episodes of Showtime’s hit show SHAMELESS, starring William H. Macy. He is currently directing SHANTARAM for Apple, and developing feature film projects.
