Thomas Renckens is a Dutch documentary filmmaker who splits his time between London and Amsterdam. A recurring theme in Thomas' films is the conflict between fantasy and reality.

His National Film & Television School graduation film 'The Daydreamers' explored a relatively unknown condition called Maladaptive Daydreaming. It was selected for film festivals worldwide, winning numerous 'Best Short Documentary' prizes, including at this year's Rhode Island Film Festival.

Thomas is currently taking part in the IDFA workshop to develop a feature documentary about the same subject. Before studying at the National Film & Television School, Thomas worked in TV for 5+ years, developing documentary programmes for broadcasters such as the BBC, Channel 4, Viceland, and Discovery Channel.
